Ask The Experts About the Newest Technology: Cartessa™ Tetra Cool CO2 Laser Treatment
Here at Dermatology Associates of Atlanta and the Laser Institute of Georgia, our providers take immense pride in being able to offer our patients the best and most effective cosmetic treatments available. This often means embracing new cosmetic technologies when they become available, once they are proven to meet our standards of quality and safety for our patients of course. The Cartessa™ Tetra Cool CO2 Laser is one such recent innovation that we are extremely excited about, due to its incredible ability to treat such a wide variety of skin conditions and imperfections. Our board-certified dermatologists were happy to answer a few common questions about this treatment for our patients.
Question #1: How do Cartessa™ Tetra Cool treatments differ from other CO2 lasers?
Cartessa™ Tetra Cool is the only CO2 laser treatment on the market to utilize their signature CoolPeel® technology. The system works by using a high-powered short pulse laser to deliver energy to the treated area with incredible precision. Cartessa™ Tetra Cool does not cause any thermal damage to any layers of the skin, meaning that despite the highly powerful laser technology used, patients will require less recovery time following their treatment session.
Question #2: What skin conditions can Cartessa™ Tetra Cool help treat?
Cartessa™ Tetra Cool is a highly versatile treatment that can be used to address many of the most common blemishes that people experience. This includes noticeable signs of aging like wrinkles and fine lines, as well as other issues like sun damage, acne scarring, uneven skin tone, and many more. Each treatment is carefully calibrated and customized for each unique patient and their needs.
Question #3: Is the treatment safe for everyone?
Yes, when performed by our board-certified dermatologists or physician assistants, Cartessa™ Tetra Cool treatments are safe and effective for patients of all skin types and tones. While patients will be able to resume their normal daily activities like work and the gym immediately after their treatment, there may be some minor, temporary effects. This includes light inflammation and dryness for a few days. To aid the skin healing process, we recommend avoiding direct sun exposure for a few days, and protecting treated skin by wearing a broad-spectrum sunscreen of at least SPF 30 during any time spent outdoors.
We’ve had incredible results treating patients with Cartessa™ Tetra Cool since adding it to our treatment selection and can’t wait for even more people to recognize the power of this outstanding laser treatment.
