If you’re looking for a non-invasive way to minimize the appearance of wrinkles, skin irregularities, rosacea symptoms and broken facial veins and capillaries, look no further than FotoFacial® IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) treatment from the providers of Dermatology Associates of Atlanta.
The FotoFacial® system is non-ablative; meaning the surface of the skin is left completely intact and unharmed while rejuvenation under the skin works away. The FotoFacial® system can be used to rejuvenate areas of the face, neck, and body to improve overall skin texture and tone, creating a renewed, glowing appearance with less imperfections than before. At DAA, we utilize the hand held device of the FotoFacial® to emit intense pulses of laser light to penetrate deep into the skin’s layers. Utilizing IPL energy, FotoFacial® treatment provides safe and effective treatment for common signs of aging including wrinkles, age spots, and overall skin texture.
So, how does it work? As pulses of laser light pass through the skin, they penetrate deep into the layers of the dermis subdermally enhance the appearance of the skin by increasing collagen production and elastin. Treatments to correct any textural irregularities and restore the skin to a more youthful appearance generally last only 30 minutes, with a cooling gel applied to treatment areas for added patient comfort. Patients may also opt to use a topical anesthetic cream 30 minutes prior to treatments to provide further relief if necessary. Beneficial to patients who choose this type of rejuvenating treatment, FotoFacial® IPL is very gentle, with just four to five treatments spaced three to four weeks apart generally needed to achieve optimal results.
During the healing times between treatments, the body must have adequate time to naturally allow the skin to heal on its own before subsequent treatments may occur. However, there is no downtime required and patients are able to instantaneously return to work and day-to-day activities following their treatment.
