Throughout the years, researchers have continuously made improvements on the earlier lasers, making them even safer and more effective for a wide range of skin care needs, from tattoo removal to skin cancer treatment to facial rejuvenation. But one advancement that has arisen in the past several years has stood out as not only a particularly effective treatment, but one which is also easy for patients with busy schedules to accommodate.
The PicoSure® laser actually began (and is still used) as an extremely effective laser for tattoo removal by targeting more colors than similar lasers and providing more thorough results in fewer sessions. But in 2014, the manufacturers of PicoSure® released the FOCUS™ Lens Array, and since then we’ve completed thousands of treatments and have achieved fantastic results. This new tool is essentially an attachment for the PicoSure® laser which allows it to provide comprehensive yet noninvasive skin rejuvenation. By treating fine lines, wrinkles, and age spots alike, this unique procedure offers exceptional results for any area of the body, but with very low risks and without the recovery time that traditional and fractional laser skin resurfacing treatments require. In fact, the only “side effect” the procedure generally causes is a redness that fades in around 4-6 hours.
So what does the treatment actually look like? Take a look at the video below of an actual treatment by our own Dr. D. Scott Karempelis at Dermatology Associates of Atlanta (DAA) using PicoSure® with the FOCUS™ Lens Array:
