Meet Our Providers: Dr. Ashley R. Curtis

At Dermatology Associates of Atlanta (DAA), we believe that it’s important for our patients to get to know their providers as professionals and as individuals. We feature one of DAA’s talented providers on our blog every month to help patients learn more about their specializations and backgrounds. This month, we’re featuring Dr. Ashley Curtis.

Dr. Ashley Curtis - Atlanta dermatologistDr. Curtis is a board-certified dermatologist at DAA, where she provides comprehensive skincare and hair loss solutions for men and women of all ages. A Georgia native, she received her education at Georgia Tech and the Medical College of Georgia. Following medical school, Dr. Curtis served as Chief Resident at Wake Forest University Department of Dermatology. When it came time to choose a specialty, Dr. Curtis says that she chose dermatology because it allows her to treat both men and women and to provide direct, practical help to patients. She has a particular interest in hair restoration, especially in women, and she enjoys applying her perspective as a female dermatologist to help women suffering from hair loss.

Advancements in cosmetic dermatology are particularly exciting for Dr. Curtis, as she loves to partner with her patients to help them reduce wrinkles, get rid of moles, or minimize scarring. She also loves the large variety of cosmetic treatments available for conditions – including aging – that in years past were mostly untreatable. “Treatments like Ultherapy® skin tightening and Infini™ for textural improvement and tightening,  non-invasive wrinkle-reducing injectables such as Botox®, and chemical peels can keep you looking youthful even if you haven’t always taken the best care of your skin.”

These days, Dr. Curtis keeps busy with her patients, reviewing and authoring articles for the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, and staying up to date on all the latest products and treatments available for dermatological and hair loss conditions.  Her professional memberships include the Women’s Dermatologic Society, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, and Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.

When she’s not at work, Dr. Curtis enjoys spending time with her family and pets.
