Griffin has been a prominent go-to figure for skin care and hair loss in Atlanta. Dr. Griffin followed his passions and founded Dermatology Associates of Atlanta, P.C. (DAA) over thirty five ago, forming a close-knit group of doctors and medical providers who work closely with each of the eight specialty centers offered to ensure the right combination is prescribed to each and every patient.
Dr. Griffin’s immense passion for the DAA practice is unmatched. He has taken great care and kept a constant hand in all aspects of the practice since its foundation. He values ensuring DAA’s patients are offered not only the most advanced technology and treatment available, but the best personal care. It is because of this that DAA’s eight centers exist—they individually address specific problems with precision and expert accuracy.
After growing up in Albany, Georgia, Dr. Griffin completed his B.S. in chemistry at the University of Georgia before earning his M.D. degree from the Medical College of Georgia. After interning at the Cleveland Metropolitan General Hospital in pediatrics, he was commissioned in the U.S. Navy and stationed at Norfolk, Virginia where he was assigned to a pediatric clinic. This term was followed by three years at the Mary Hitchcock Hospital at Dartmouth College for his residency in Dermatology.
Dr. Griffin is a board-certified dermatologist and dermatologic surgeon certified by the American Academy of Dermatology and serves a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and the Coalition of Independent Hair Restoration Physicians. Since 1976, Dr. Griffin has dedicated himself to hair replacement surgery and has devoted his resources and time to improving this specialty, even training other doctors both overseas and all over the United States. With his expertise in this area, he opened a specialty center within DAA, The Griffin Center for Hair Restoration and Research.
Another special interest of Dr. Griffin is improving those who have been left scarred by acne. He has not only lectured dermatologists with this subject as the main topic, but also for facial plastic surgeons interested in this highly specialized focus. When it comes to innovations regarding acne scars and improving their appearance, Dr. Griffin has led the way in using multiple types of lasers, PRP, fat transferring including nanofat, Cross treatments with chemicals, needling with dermarollers, Dermapen®, and now radiofrequency Infini® by Lutronic, subcisions, punch floating, skin transfers from donor areas to improve the pigmentation lost and filling with ACell®, AlloDerm®, fascia late and a patient’s clot formation produced from the patient’s blood and hemophototherapy using the patients’ blood as a filler then activating it with a pulsed dye laser; laser resurfacing, dermabrasion including hand sanding complete the techniques employed to improve this scarring condition.
Dr. Griffin has been performing facial rejuvenation treatments for wrinkles and scarring for many years, becoming an expert on popular cosmetic injectables such as Botox® and other facial treatments. Performing liposuction since the mid 80’s, Dr. Griffin consults patients seeking fat reduction on areas such as double chins, stomachs, arms, legs, love handles and more.
