Top Dermatologists See Increase in Young Patients Seeking to Preserve, Protect Skin
Right now, there’s a shift going on in product usage for the younger generation. According to new statistics from the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS), patients aged 30 years and younger upped their usage of wrinkle-relaxing procedures and soft-tissue filler treatments by at least 50%. Their motivation? Prevention.
Between 2012 and 2013, wrinkle relaxers and soft-tissue fillers remained the most popular cosmetic procedures performed by ASDS members. However, the number of people undergoing these preventative anti-aging treatments saw significant changes.
According to the 2013 ASDS Survey on Dermatologic Procedures, there were 90,000 wrinkle-relaxer procedures (think Botox®) performed by ASDS members in 2013, an increase of 50% from 2012 for the same age group. Additionally, there were almost 30,000 facial filler treatments (like Juvéderm® and Restlyane®) for the group last year, a 63% increase from 2012.
The providers of Dermatology Associates of Atlanta (DAA) educate patients on habits that prevent wrinkles and sun damage while preserving young-looking skin. We encourage our younger patients to address skin issues now rather than later to avoid harsh treatments later on. We also urge the usage of broad spectrum, SPF 30 or higher sunscreen without exception.
At DAA, we provide the most on-trend and cutting-edge treatments to consistently remain a top dermatology practice in Atlanta. For us, it’s not a popularity contest—it’s creating a patient base of trust and loyalty based on our reliable providers. Together, our doctors have extensive facial injection experience, performing an average of 9,000 injections each year in Atlanta.
Facial injections are just a fraction of the preventative anti-aging selection of products and services we provide to help patients preserve youthful skin.
