Cartessa™ Tetra Cool CO2 Laser

About Cartessa™ Tetra Cool CO2 Laser Treatment at Dermatology Associates of Atlanta

Here at Dermatology Associates of Atlanta and the Laser Institute of Georgia, we have been offering our patients the most cutting-edge and top-of-the-line cosmetic laser technologies for over 25 years. Our expert board-certified dermatologists and physician assistants could not be more excited to help our patients improve the quality of their skin and look their best with the help of the Cartessa™ Tetra Cool CO2 Laser.

CO2 (carbon dioxide) laser treatments remain in very high demand due to their ability to effectively treat visible signs of aging like wrinkles, as well as sun damage, scarring, moles, and other imperfections. These skin resurfacing treatments can provide a significant boost in skin quality without the risks and costs of undergoing cosmetic surgery. With this in mind, we are proud to perform Cartessa™ Tetra Cool CO2 Laser Treatments for our patients.

Cartessa™ Tetra is the first CO2-based laser treatment to utilize advanced CoolPeel® technology. The CoolPeel® system uses a high-powered short pulse laser and delivers a more precise, fully-ablative treatment to the issue in the affected area. Since the treatment does not cause any thermal damage to the skin, less downtime will be needed when compared to other CO2 laser technologies.

Cartessa™ Tetra Cool CO2 Laser Treatment

After discussing the patient’s aesthetic goals and examining their skin, we are able to customize the intensity and depth of each Tetra Cool treatment. Once this calibration is complete, we will apply a topical numbing cream to the area that will be treated. After waiting about 15-30 minutes for the area to numb, we will then apply the high pulse laser energy directly and precisely to the surface of the skin. During treatment, our providers can control the output to produce high energy in extremely short-pulses to deliver superficial, skin resurfacing results to the treated area. The CoolPeel® technology used during treatment ensures that no lingering heat or skin damage to the surrounding skin will occur during treatment.

Treatment sessions typically last about 30 minutes, though this may vary from patient to patient. Some mild redness (similar to a sunburn) may occur after treatment, but this will typically subside after a day or two. No downtime for recovery is needed and patients can resume their normal daily activities immediately following treatment. We advise all patients to avoid direct sun exposure to the treatment area on the days before and after treatment to promote optimal long-term results.

Cartessa™ Tetra Cool CO2 Laser FAQs

What areas can be treated with the Cartessa™ Tetra Cool CO2 Laser?

This is a versatile treatment that can provide aesthetic rejuvenation for areas all over the face and body. Common treatment areas include the face, neck, arms, hands, abdomen, knees, chest, and back. However, the treatment can be safely applied to virtually any area.

How long until I notice the results of my Cartessa™ Tetra Cool CO2 Laser treatment?

Patients generally notice a significant improvement in their complexion within 10 days of their initial treatment session. However, the skin will continue to improve for up to 6 months following the completion of the treatment. In most cases, a series of treatments (spaced 4-6 weeks apart) will be needed to achieve the best possible results.
